Dubai International Chamber Successfully Hosts 180 Business Meetings In Belgrade To Foster Cooperation
Dubai International Chamber, part of Dubai Chambers, organised 180 business meetings between companies from Dubai and Serbia. These meetings occurred in Belgrade during the chamber's trade mission to Serbia and Türkiye under the New Horizons initiative. This initiative aims to help local businesses expand by linking them with opportunities in promising global markets.
The trade mission included representatives from 13 private sector companies in Dubai. These companies operate in various sectors such as electronics, food and beverages, pipeline products, IT, brand protection, technology, airport services, retail, textiles, and energy and mobility solutions.

A business forum titled "Doing Business with Serbia" was held in Belgrade as part of the mission. The UAE Embassy in Belgrade and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia supported this event. Key speakers included Ahmed Almenhali, UAE Ambassador to Serbia; Adrijana Mesarović, Serbian Minister of Economy; and Milovan Kocić from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia.
The forum attracted 208 participants. These included senior Serbian government officials, business leaders, and Serbian companies interested in partnerships with the chamber’s delegation members. During the event, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Dubai Chambers and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia.
This agreement aims to enhance cooperation between Dubai's and Serbia's business communities. Both parties will work together on trade missions, conferences, business events, and sharing knowledge to support growth and innovation. Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah stated that they are committed to strengthening Dubai’s economic ties globally.
Lootah added that this mission is part of ongoing efforts to unlock opportunities for Dubai-based companies in promising markets like Serbia. He expressed confidence that it would boost bilateral trade and reinforce Dubai’s status as a global business hub.
Economic Insights
Non-oil trade between Dubai and Serbia reached AED233.9 million in 2023 according to Dubai Customs data. By mid-2024, 202 Serbian companies were active members of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce. During this period, 39 new businesses registered with the chamber.
Hassan Al Hashemi from Dubai Chambers gave a presentation at the forum on Dubai’s economic landscape. He highlighted competitive advantages for Serbian enterprises considering operations in the emirate.
Panel Discussion
The event also featured a panel discussion with experts from key economic sectors in Serbia. This session offered insights into doing business in Serbia with speakers sharing their experiences within the local market environment.
The trade mission underscores efforts to foster stronger ties between Dubai and international markets like Serbia through strategic initiatives aimed at mutual growth.
