Dubai Hosts Launch Of K 2025 Trade Fair Set For Germany In October 2025
Dubai recently hosted the launch event for K 2025, the largest trade fair globally for plastics, rubber, and recycling industries. Scheduled from 8th to 15th October 2025 in Düsseldorf, Germany, this announcement was made at a press conference at the InterContinental Dubai Festival City Hotel. The event saw participation from Messe Düsseldorf's official delegation and senior executives from major industrial entities in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman.
The significant presence of Gulf representatives underscored the region's rapid industrial growth. K 2025 is expected to feature over 3,000 exhibitors worldwide. This includes more than ten specialised companies from the UAE like EnerPlastics, SRG Global, and Multi Trade Group. Additionally, over ten major Saudi companies will participate, including SABIC. The event anticipates attracting over 180,000 visitors from 167 countries.

The previous edition of K recorded exceptional global and regional attendance. This reinforced its status as a leading platform for industrial technology and innovation. Petra Cullmann, Executive Director of Messe Düsseldorf, expressed pride in their partnership with Dubai. She stated that choosing Dubai as a key stop in K 2025's promotional tour reflects international trust in the UAE’s industrial and commercial standing.
This year's theme for K is "The Power of Plastics! Green – Smart – Responsible." It focuses on three main pillars: circular economy, digital transformation, and social responsibility. Interactive platforms like the VDMA Forum and the special exhibition "Plastics Shape the Future" will be featured. These provide an ideal stage for industry leaders to exchange knowledge and explore global innovations.
K 2025 serves as a strategic platform highlighting both Gulf and global leadership in key industrial sectors. It supports the region’s role in reinforcing global supply chains and driving a shift toward a sustainable circular economy.
Economic Impact
The Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA) reports that Gulf countries produce over 35 million tons of plastic annually. This represents 15% of global output with around 85% exported internationally. The sector’s annual revenue exceeds US$100 billion, employing over 160,000 people directly.
Recycling rates in the region are projected to increase by 9.3% next year. This positions the Gulf as a key player in advancing sustainable industries worldwide.
Cullmann added that their presence at Dubai’s ArabPlast with prominent participation from Europe strengthens ties with the region. This is supported by proactive engagement from UAE and Gulf-based partners keen on fostering impactful international cooperation.
