Dubai Unveils Its Diverse Tourism Attractions At ITB Berlin 2024
The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) recently made a significant impact at the Internationale Tourismus-Börse Berlin (ITB Berlin), one of the globe's premier travel trade shows. This marked Dubai's 32nd participation in the event, which this year saw close to 100,000 attendees. DET, along with 56 key partners and stakeholders, showcased Dubai's wide-ranging tourism offerings to global travel industry leaders and professionals.
Among the co-exhibitors were notable entities such as Address Hotels + Resorts, Atlantis Dubai, Banyan Tree Dubai, Museum of The Future, and flydubai, marking its first appearance. This collaboration underscores DET's strategic approach to promoting Dubai globally and boosting inbound visitation from both established and new markets.

In 2023, Dubai achieved a record-breaking milestone by welcoming 17.15 million international overnight visitors, a 19.4 percent increase year-on-year from the 14.36 million in 2022. The German market contributed significantly to this success, with a remarkable 36 percent year-on-year growth and 574,979 overnight guests.
At ITB Berlin, the Dubai delegation engaged with travel trade professionals worldwide and was welcomed by top politicians and industry leaders such as Kai Wegner, Governing Mayor of Berlin; Franziska Giffey, Berlin Senator for Economics, Energy and Public Enterprises; and Julia Simpson, President and CEO of the World Travel & Tourism Council.
Issam Kazim, CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DCTCM), highlighted the city's strategic efforts to align with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. He emphasized the unified presence at ITB Berlin as a reflection of robust public-private partnerships and Dubai's commitment to being a top destination for visitors, residents, and businesses alike.
Dubai's exceptional performance in attracting tourists was recognized at ITB Berlin when it was named the highest-rated destination in the 2023 Destination Performance Index (DPI) by IPK International. This accolade is based on global tourist trips, traveller satisfaction, recommendations, and the desire to revisit.
This year's ITB Berlin saw significant participation with over 5,500 exhibitors from 170 countries, 1,300 senior buyers, 80 ministers and state secretaries, 72 ambassadors, and 3,200 accredited journalists. Key topics discussed included the potential uses of AI in tourism and the importance of sustainability within the sector.
Dubai's achievement as the No.1 global destination for the third consecutive year in the Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards 2024 further cements its status as a leading travel destination. This recognition is a testament to Dubai's vibrant offerings, world-class infrastructure, exceptional service standards, and effective collaboration between government and private sectors.
