Dubai Future Foundation And Dubai Land Department Collaborate To Drive PropTech Innovation In Real Estate
Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) and Dubai Land Department (DLD) have joined forces to advance innovation in property technology, known as PropTech. This collaboration is part of DFF's Sandbox Dubai initiative, which seeks to refine the city's regulatory frameworks in line with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33).
The goal is to create a supportive environment for emerging technologies that enhance the efficiency, sustainability, and accessibility of Dubai's real estate sector.

The partnership will allow for testing and expanding innovative PropTech solutions within a secure framework. It aims to facilitate knowledge sharing and capacity building among tech companies, startups, and government bodies. These entities will work together to develop regulatory frameworks and policies that support technological advancements in real estate.
Omar Bu Shehab, Director-General of DLD, highlighted the significant transformation in Dubai's real estate sector. He noted that this change is paving the way for a smart city by integrating the latest technological innovations. "Technology is the key to advancing today’s real estate landscape, from market regulation and data management through to building happier, more integrated communities," he stated.
The frameworks developed through this partnership will focus on areas such as AI-driven analytics and smart building management tools. These initiatives will leverage DLD's data on local real estate to support new projects and use cases. The aim is to enhance various aspects of the sector using advanced technologies.
Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of DFF, emphasized that this collaboration with DLD is part of Dubai's broader strategy. The city aims to harness cooperation between government, private sectors, and academia to strengthen its future readiness. This involves shaping forward-looking legislation and adopting technologies across different sectors.
The PropTech project within Sandbox Dubai seeks to increase the real estate sector's contribution to Dubai’s GDP. It also aims to reduce property operating costs, speed up mortgage approvals, and create more jobs in PropTech. By providing a platform for testing data-driven solutions and agile regulatory frameworks, it intends to elevate the sector's global leadership.
Under this partnership, Sandbox Dubai will offer an environment where partners can test their innovations. This includes real estate developers, technology providers, academic institutions, and financial entities working together towards common goals.
