Dubai Partners With Emaar Hospitality To Enhance Tourism Experience

Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) and Emaar Hospitality Group have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to keep Dubai at the forefront of global hospitality trends. This agreement aims to enhance marketing efforts, develop tourism products, and provide training for staff.

Issam Kazim, CEO of the Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DCTCM), part of DET, and Mark Kirby, Head of Emaar Hospitality Group, signed the MoU at DET's headquarters. The collaboration will focus on innovative strategies to highlight Dubai's unique attractions and experiences.

Dubai Enhances Tourism with Emaar

The partnership will implement new marketing strategies to showcase Dubai as a must-visit destination. These efforts aim to enhance the city's global reputation by highlighting its unique attractions and experiences.

Additionally, DET and Emaar Hospitality Group will work together to develop new tourism products that cater to diverse visitor interests. By combining Dubai's cultural heritage with modern attractions, they plan to create packages that offer authentic experiences.

DET will facilitate training programmes for Emaar Hospitality Group staff. These initiatives include specialised sessions, workshops, and certification programmes designed to equip employees with the latest industry knowledge.

Kazim stated, "This MoU marks another important milestone for Dubai's tourism industry. Hospitality has been a cornerstone of Dubai's journey towards becoming one of the most visited and most popular destinations in the world, with Emaar playing a crucial role in the city's growth story."

Record-Breaking Visitor Numbers

Dubai achieved a record-breaking 17.15 million international overnight visitors in 2023. The growth continued into 2024 with 10.62 million visitors from January to July, an 8% increase over the same period in 2023.

The emirate's hotel sector also performed well in the first seven months of 2024. Occupancy rates stood at 77.1%, among the highest globally. The total number of available rooms reached 151,417 by July 2024, up from 148,711 in July 2023.

Expanding Hotel Sector

The number of hotel establishments increased from 813 in July 2023 to 825 by July 2024. This growth reflects Dubai's ongoing efforts to expand its hospitality sector.

Kirby noted that this collaboration heralds a transformative milestone to redefine luxury hospitality in Dubai. "By seamlessly integrating our expertise with DET's visionary goals, we are poised to create impactful tourism experiences that resonate on a global scale," he said.

"Through this partnership we aim to enhance Dubai's appeal, drive visitor growth, and set new standards for excellence in the hospitality industry," Kirby added.

This collaboration between DET and Emaar Hospitality Group is expected to elevate Dubai’s tourism momentum further. It reflects their shared commitment to consolidating Dubai’s position as a global leader in tourism and hospitality.
