Dubai Design Week 2023 Brings Together Over 1,000 Designers From More Than 50 Countries
Dubai Design Week has commenced its 11th edition, bringing together over 1,000 designers, architects, and creatives from more than 50 nations. The event is held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and in partnership with Dubai Design District (d3). It features a variety of commissions, exhibitions, and installations across d3.
The week aims to foster cross-cultural exchange by showcasing diverse practices in architecture, interiors, furniture, product, graphic, and experiential design. "Dubai Design District is filled with unmatched creative energy, dialogue and ideas this week," said Khadija Al Bastaki, Senior Vice President of d3. "Dubai Design Week offers creatives, brands, and visitors unique ways to engage with the design industry and discover new talents."

Al Bastaki highlighted that their partnership enhances Dubai's status as a global creative hub. This aligns with the 'Design Sector Strategy 2033.' This year marks the unveiling of the first d3 Awards winner and the hosting of the fifth d3 Architecture Exhibition in collaboration with RIBA’s Gulf Chapter.
Natasha Carella, Director for Dubai Design Week, noted that this edition emphasises culturally rooted work and global collaboration. It focuses on a reflective approach centred on human experiences while recognising design as a social connector and cultural force.
The region's leading contemporary design fair, Downtown Design, returns to the d3 Waterfront Terrace. It showcases new collections and innovative products alongside pop-up concepts and regional spotlights. Talks and panels are also part of this vibrant event.
Dubai Design Week 2025 will feature various exhibitions, pop-ups, and activations. Among these is the expanded UAE Designer Exhibition which supports mentorship for emerging local designers by enhancing their visibility.
This year's event not only celebrates creativity but also strengthens Dubai's position as a centre for innovation in design. By bringing together diverse talents from around the world, it continues to promote cultural exchange through art and design.
