Dubai Customs Launches 11 Initiatives To Support Community During Ramadan

Dubai Customs has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to community service and volunteerism during the holy month of Ramadan. With the launch of 11 community initiatives, the department continues to support various societal groups including needy families, elderly citizens, labourers, clients, orphans, and its own workforce. These efforts are part of Dubai Customs' annual Ramadan campaign, which aims to address different aspects of social responsibility and volunteerism.

The range of activities orchestrated by Dubai Customs during Ramadan is notable for its inclusivity and diversity. One of the key initiatives includes the distribution of iftar meals to road users, a tradition that has been expanded this year to also cater to elderly citizens in collaboration with Dhakar Club. This initiative seeks to foster dialogue and recognize the valuable contributions of elderly members of society.

Dubai Customs' Ramadan Support

Moreover, Dubai Customs' charitable efforts during Ramadan are extensive, with plans to distribute 30,000 meals throughout the month. The department is also organizing a Ramadan suhoor for its clients, offering daily prizes on the Sama Dubai channel's "Mandous" programme, hosting collective iftars for new Muslims in cooperation with the Islamic Information Center, and arranging religious lectures.

Khalil Saqer bin Gharib, Director of the Corporate Communication Department at Dubai Customs, emphasized the strategic importance of these initiatives. He noted that Dubai Customs aims to reinforce values of benevolence and social responsibility across the community. With 175 initiatives carried out in the past year alone, benefiting 238,000 individuals from all walks of life, Dubai Customs has established itself as a leader in community service. This commitment has been reflected in a remarkable 98 percent community happiness rate according to a comprehensive study.

The department's dedication to its voluntary and community endeavors throughout Ramadan is a testament to its ongoing efforts to cater to diverse societal needs. By launching a variety of initiatives aimed at supporting different segments of society, Dubai Customs continues to uphold its commitment to societal welfare and volunteerism.
