Dubai Culture Unveils Community Events And Cultural Activities For 'Ramadan In Dubai'
The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) is set to enrich the Ramadan experience in Dubai with a series of community events and cultural activities. These initiatives are aimed at celebrating the essence of Ramadan, providing both residents and visitors with opportunities to immerse themselves in the festive spirit of this sacred month. Among the highlights are the fifth edition of the 'Ramadan Heroes' humanitarian initiative and 'Ramadan Nights' at various cultural and heritage venues under the Authority's management.
These efforts are part of Dubai Culture's contribution to the 'Ramadan In Dubai' campaign, initiated under the guidance of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council. The campaign, executed by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office, marks a pioneering collaboration between public and private sectors to celebrate the Holy Month.

The 'Ramadan Heroes' initiative, a collaboration between Dubai Culture, Emirates Red Crescent, and talabat UAE, is designed to foster societal solidarity and encourage humanitarian participation. Themed 'Celebrating the Gift of Giving,' it supports less fortunate community members by facilitating donations for Iftar and Suhoor meals, food parcels, and Eid clothing through a virtual charity on the talabat UAE app. Shaima Rashid Al Suwaidi, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Dubai Culture, highlighted that this initiative underscores the community's strong spirit of solidarity and its commitment to social responsibility.
'Ramadan Nights' features entertainment shows and workshops at Etihad Museum in partnership with the Dubai Astronomy Group and Gulf Photo Plus, celebrating the UAE's role in lunar space station development. Al Shindagha Museum hosts additional events until 31 March, offering visitors a chance to engage in Ramadan activities inspired by local heritage. Workshops on traditional 'Mukhawara' making, 'Safeefa Rug Tufting', and perfume crafting are among the activities designed to immerse participants in Emirati culture.
Children are also catered for with interactive workshops on artwork creation using gypsum, henna blending techniques for intricate designs, traditional jewellery making, insights into Emirati costumes, and engaging in popular games like 'Al Karabi' and 'Tug of War'. The 'Bu Tebaila Walk' revives the 'Steps of Suhoor' tradition, inviting families to join Bu Tebaila on a tour through Al Shindagha Historical Neighbourhood.
In addition, EmpowerHer has organized a Ramadan Market in the neighbourhood, showcasing products crafted by talented residents. Al Shindagha Museum’s Visitor Centre has been transformed into a communal space where visitors can enjoy Suhoor meals from various vendors including Chef Maitha, Dubai Food Babes, Sultan Eats, and more.
Through these initiatives, Dubai Culture aims not only to celebrate Ramadan but also to strengthen community bonds and promote cultural heritage among residents and visitors alike. The diverse range of activities ensures that everyone can find something to enjoy during this holy month, fostering a sense of unity and generosity across Dubai.
