Dubai Chambers Hosts Roundtable To Introduce 25 Korean Companies To Dubai's Thriving Business Ecosystem

Dubai Chambers recently organised the ‘Dubai–Korea Roundtable Discussion’ in collaboration with the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) and the UAE Embassy in Seoul. This event highlighted Dubai's business advantages and opportunities for Korean enterprises across various sectors. The roundtable drew around 60 participants, including representatives from 14 Dubai-based organisations, aiming to explore collaboration avenues with Korean businesses.

The event showcased a diverse range of sectors, including digital industries like agritech, artificial intelligence, fintech, and advanced technology. Other areas such as mobility solutions, energy, construction, and infrastructure were also represented. This diversity underscores the broad potential for cooperation between Dubai and Korean markets.

Korean Companies Engage with Dubai's Business Ecosystem

During the event, Dubai Chambers signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with KITA. Saeed Al Gergawi, Vice President of Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, and Gi-Hyun Kim, Vice President of KITA, signed the agreement in the presence of Jin-Sik Yoon, Chairman of KITA. The MoU aims to boost private-sector investments by sharing economic insights and enhancing business cooperation.

The agreement includes exchanging trade delegations and developing effective communication channels between companies. It also encourages coordinated participation in exhibitions, forums, and seminars to advance mutual economic interests.

Saeed Al Gergawi emphasised that Dubai offers robust growth prospects for Korean companies across various sectors. He noted that this includes startups and established firms in advanced technology fields. Al Gergawi highlighted the role of Expand North Star 2025 in fostering these opportunities.

Expand North Star 2025 is the world's largest event for startups and investors. Organised by Dubai World Trade Centre and hosted by Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, this year's edition will occur from 12–15 October at Dubai Harbour. The event serves as a crucial platform for Korean companies to establish new partnerships and attract venture capital.

Last year’s edition saw participation from 152 companies from Korea, marking a 111 percent increase compared to the previous year when 72 Korean startups took part.

This roundtable discussion not only strengthened ties between Dubai and Korea but also opened new avenues for business collaborations across multiple sectors. The initiatives discussed are expected to foster economic growth and innovation between both regions.
