Dubai Chamber Of Commerce Concludes Trade Mission In Maputo With 356 Business Meetings To Enhance Trade Relations

Dubai Chamber of Commerce recently completed a trade mission to Angola and Mozambique, facilitating 356 business-to-business meetings between Dubai companies and their Mozambican counterparts. These interactions aimed to forge new partnerships and explore mutual trade and investment opportunities. The mission underscores Dubai's commitment to expanding its global business footprint.

The chamber organised a forum titled ‘Doing Business with Mozambique’ in collaboration with various entities, including the UAE Embassy in Maputo and Mozambique’s Ministry of Economy. This event attracted 349 participants, including senior officials and business leaders, who explored potential cooperation avenues with the Dubai delegation.

Dubai Chamber Completes Trade Mission in Maputo

Dubai's non-oil trade with Mozambique saw a notable increase, rising from AED3.1 billion in 2023 to AED4.6 billion in 2024, reflecting a 47% growth. By the end of Q1 2025, 89 Mozambican businesses were registered as active members of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, highlighting the strengthening economic ties between the two regions.

A panel discussion during the forum highlighted Mozambique's key trade and investment advantages. It also provided insights into partnership mechanisms and business setup procedures for Dubai-based companies looking to enter the Mozambican market. This session emphasised Mozambique's strong market potential across major sectors.

The chamber showcased Dubai’s advanced business environment during the forum, highlighting its competitive advantages for Mozambican companies. The event also outlined promising opportunities available in Mozambique for businesses based in Dubai, reinforcing the mutual benefits of enhanced trade relations.

Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, stated: "We are committed to strengthening the global reach of Dubai-based companies by supporting them in exploring opportunities in promising markets such as Mozambique. These efforts enhance the competitiveness of our private sector and contribute to Dubai’s growing global trade."

Diverse Industry Representation

The delegation from Dubai included representatives from 19 private sector companies spanning various industries such as electronics, trading, piping products, brand protection solutions, retail, textiles, energy, and mobility solutions. This diverse representation underscores Dubai's multifaceted approach to international business expansion.

Dubai Chamber of Commerce has pinpointed several high-potential export sectors from Dubai to Mozambique. These include wheat, cars, cell phones, frozen fish, diagnostic equipment, electrical conductors, and textiles. Additionally, promising investment sectors in Mozambique for Dubai-based firms include agribusiness; tourism; packaging; energy; and wood processing.

This mission created a dynamic platform for building fruitful partnerships between business communities in both regions. It paves the way for successful collaborations that can enhance economic growth and development through strategic investments and trade initiatives.
