Dubai Chamber Of Commerce Launches Peruvian Business Council To Strengthen Trade Relations

The Dubai Chamber of Commerce, under the guidance of Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, has introduced the Peruvian Business Council. This initiative aims to enhance collaboration between Dubai and Peru's business sectors, fostering trade and investment relations. The announcement was made during the first annual meeting of the council at the chamber's headquarters.

With this addition, there are now 61 Business Councils under the Dubai Chamber of Commerce. These councils serve as a bridge for businesses from various countries operating in Dubai, promoting economic cooperation with key global markets. They play a crucial role in strengthening ties and facilitating investments.

Dubai Chamber Launches Peruvian Business Council

Maha Al Gargawi, Vice President of Business Advocacy at Dubai Chambers, stated that establishing the Peruvian Business Council demonstrates their dedication to enhancing trade relations worldwide. She emphasised the importance of these councils in boosting investment cooperation and supporting the growth of Dubai’s non-oil foreign trade.

The meeting also highlighted the council’s priorities and future plans. Participants discussed strategies to improve economic collaboration between Dubai and Peru. The council aims to organise events and activities that will further these goals.

The creation of the Peruvian Business Council underscores Dubai's attractiveness as a hub for Peruvian enterprises and investors. In 2024, non-oil trade between Dubai and Peru surpassed AED8.3 billion, marking a significant 91% increase from the previous year. By Q1 2025, 23 Peruvian companies were active members of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce.

Country-specific Business Councils work closely with the chamber to enhance bilateral trade and investments. Their efforts focus on building stronger connections between companies in Dubai and those from represented markets, aiming to fortify strategic economic partnerships.

This initiative reflects a broader strategy to position Dubai as a central player in global trade networks by leveraging its relationships with diverse international markets. The establishment of such councils is part of ongoing efforts to expand economic opportunities and foster mutual growth.
