DHA And KIMS Group Discuss New Healthcare Partnership Opportunities For Enhanced Patient Care
Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi, Director-General of the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), recently engaged with a senior delegation from KIMS Hospitals Group. The group, led by Dr. Rakesh Jalla, Senior Vice-President for International Business and Partnerships, is based in Hyderabad, India. Their discussions centred on enhancing cooperation in specialised healthcare, diagnostics, medical education, and scientific research.
The meeting explored the possibility of establishing KIMS Group’s first international diagnostic centre in Dubai. This facility aims to provide specialised diagnostic services that meet international standards. Such an initiative aligns with Dubai's broader healthcare objectives and enhances its global standing.

Both parties discussed developing training programmes to improve patient experiences and facilitate the exchange of medical expertise between the UAE and India. They also considered the potential for referring UAE-based patients to KIMS hospitals in India for advanced treatment services.
The recent official visit to India by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has opened new avenues for UAE–India cooperation across various sectors, including healthcare. This visit has paved the way for enhanced collaboration between the two nations.
Al Ketbi emphasised DHA’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships and attracting global medical expertise. This aligns with Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s vision and Sheikh Hamdan’s directives to bolster Dubai’s leadership in global healthcare.
He highlighted DHA’s interest in forming a strategic partnership with KIMS Hospitals Group, one of South Asia’s leading medical institutions. Al Ketbi noted that DHA is focused on creating an environment conducive to investment through advanced infrastructure and supportive regulations.
KIMS Group's Commitment
The KIMS delegation praised Dubai’s openness and commitment to collaborative partnerships. They expressed enthusiasm for contributing to the city’s ongoing healthcare progress by presenting their portfolio, which includes 16 hospitals with over 5,000 beds across 25 specialties such as organ transplantation, oncology, cardiology, neurosciences, and robotic surgery.
The group’s flagship hospital in Hyderabad is South India’s largest private hospital with five quality accreditations. The delegation expressed a desire to build a long-term partnership with DHA to elevate patient outcomes and improve quality of life.
Such initiatives directly support the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. They underscore the private sector's role as a strategic partner in advancing Dubai’s healthcare system.
The meeting concluded with both sides affirming their commitment to reinforcing Dubai's status as a regional hub for advanced healthcare through these collaborative efforts.
