DEWA And ENOC Join Forces To Expand Electric Vehicle Fast-Charging Network Across Dubai

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has partnered with ENOC Group to expand the electric vehicle fast-charging network at ENOC service stations throughout Dubai. This initiative aims to improve infrastructure to meet the increasing demand for electric vehicles. The agreement was signed by Waleed bin Salman from DEWA and Zaid Alqufaidi from ENOC, with senior officials present during the 27th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2025) at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, highlighted the collaboration's role in advancing Dubai’s green mobility. He stated that building an integrated infrastructure for charging electric vehicles helps reduce carbon emissions. This effort aligns with the goals of the Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050, and the Dubai Green Mobility Strategy.

DEWA and ENOC Expand EV Charging Network

The contract with ENOC is part of DEWA's EV Green Charger initiative, launched in 2014 to support the increasing number of electric vehicles. Al Tayer emphasised their ongoing work with partners across sectors to establish a sustainable green economy. This initiative aims to meet leadership aspirations and enhance Dubai’s global competitiveness.

Hussain Sultan Lootah, Acting Group CEO of ENOC, described the partnership as a strategic milestone in supporting the UAE’s green agenda. By expanding fast-charging networks at service stations, ENOC aims to meet customer needs and contribute to a sustainable future. Lootah noted that ENOC continues investing in innovation and smart mobility solutions aligned with the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.

Through its EV Green Charger initiative, DEWA provides over 1,500 charging points across Dubai. This is achieved through collaboration with partners from both public and private sectors. The initiative supports sustainable development goals while promoting green mobility within the emirate.

This collaboration between DEWA and ENOC signifies a significant step towards enhancing infrastructure for electric vehicles in Dubai. It reflects a commitment to sustainability and innovation while addressing growing consumer needs for efficient charging solutions.
