DCT Abu Dhabi And National Library Sign MoU To Enhance Cultural Collaboration And Knowledge Exchange
The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) has partnered with the National Library and Archives to enhance cultural collaboration and knowledge sharing. This partnership was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding signed by Abdullah Majed Al Ali, Director-General of the National Library and Archives, and Saood Abdulaziz Al Hosani, Undersecretary of DCT Abu Dhabi.
During the signing ceremony at DCT Abu Dhabi headquarters, both parties committed to organising joint activities and events. These initiatives aim to enrich the cultural scene in the UAE while promoting cultural sustainability. The agreement also focuses on fostering community engagement in preserving Abu Dhabi's cultural heritage.

The MoU outlines several key initiatives, including awareness and training workshops on cultural projects. It also aims to develop a community responsibility programme for safeguarding Abu Dhabi's cultural heritage. Additionally, enhancing Arabic language literacy among community members is a priority under this agreement.
Cooperation in the publishing sector is another significant aspect of this partnership. Both organisations will coordinate efforts to organise and host events such as joint lectures and other programmes that promote cultural exchange. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to supporting a knowledge-based economy.
Al Ali highlighted the importance of this collaboration with DCT Abu Dhabi in supporting a knowledge-driven economy. He expressed optimism about the outcomes of their joint efforts in exchanging knowledge, expertise, programmes, and innovative experiences related to culture and museums.
Al Hosani stated, "Our partnership with the National Library and Archives reflects our commitment to preserving and promoting our cultural heritage, safeguarding it for future generations." This collaboration aims to enhance expertise through knowledge exchange programmes and activities.
