Commando Group Achieves Victory At Abu Dhabi World Amateur Jiu-Jitsu Championship Event

The Commando Group from the UAE triumphed at the Abu Dhabi World Amateur Jiu-Jitsu Championship, a segment of the 16th Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship. Competitors aged 30 and above participated in blue and white belt categories, with Commando Group building on their earlier success to deliver a remarkable performance.

Brazil's Checkmat International secured second place, while the Kazakhstan National Academy finished third. This year's amateur competitions saw a notable rise in participation, enhancing the technical level and highlighting jiu-jitsu's positive impact on physical, mental, and social well-being.

Commando Group Wins Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Championship

Several dignitaries attended the championship to award winners. Notable attendees included Mohamed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice Chairman of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation; Amal Abdul Qadir Al Afifi, Secretary-General of the Khalifa Award for Education; and Rashed Saif Al Qubaisi, Group COO of PureHealth. Other distinguished guests were Yousef Abdullah Al Batran, Rashid Humaid Al Qubaisi, Dr. Suad Al Suwaidi, Elena Sorlini, Fahad Ali Al Shamsi, and Omar Ali Ahmed.

Amal Abdul Qadir Al Afifi remarked that "Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship reflects Abu Dhabi's commitment to elevating its sports landscape and showcases how the capital has emerged as a global sports hub. Abu Dhabi has become a model for delivering high-level sports experiences, attracting top athletes of all ages, and fostering cultural exchange."

Al Afifi praised the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation for establishing an inclusive platform that allows athletes of all ages to develop their skills in an inspiring setting. She stated that "The championship highlights the Federation's success in promoting jiu-jitsu and expanding its influence locally and globally."

Mubarak Saleh Al-Menhali, Director of the Technical Department at the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, emphasized today's competitions' significance. He noted that high participation rates demonstrate jiu-jitsu’s growing popularity both locally and internationally.

Al-Menhali added that these athletes provide more than just sporting achievements; they serve as role models for younger generations by illustrating how jiu-jitsu can help address daily challenges and support a healthy lifestyle. He said: "Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship shows that Jiu-Jitsu transcends age and experience, uniting everyone through shared passion."
