China's Economic Development Recognised As Key Driver For Global Growth At Boao Forum
Zafar Uddin Mahmood, a policy advisor to the secretary general of the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA), commended China's dedication to expanding its open-door policies. He believes China's consistent economic growth will significantly contribute to global economic progress. Mahmood shared these insights during an interview with the Global Times at the BFA annual conference in Boao, Hainan Province.
Mahmood expressed optimism about China's economic future, stating, "I have full confidence in China's ability to maintain steady growth, and this stability will provide greater certainty for the world economy." He emphasized that China's stable growth and technological advancements are revitalizing both regional and global economies.

The BFA annual conference, running from Tuesday to Friday in Boao, focuses on themes like development and international cooperation under "Asia in the changing World: Towards a shared Future." The event aims to foster dialogue and explore innovative approaches for tangible outcomes. Mahmood noted that China's technology leads in Asia, with innovation hubs like the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area driving significant changes globally.
During the China Development Forum in Beijing, Mahmood paid close attention to key statements. He found the forum's positive signals "highly enlightening." He highlighted four major policy directions from China: expanding opening-up policies, boosting domestic demand through fiscal spending, attracting foreign investment with favorable policies, and increasing outbound investment.
Mahmood stated that China's technological innovation capabilities are infusing new energy into regional and global economic development. He mentioned that more groundbreaking achievements are anticipated from China's innovation hubs. These hubs are pivotal in transforming the global tech landscape.
According to Mahmood, these four policy directions indicate that China will continue thriving as a global economic engine. He added that China's stable economic expansion would benefit not only Asia but also have extensive positive effects worldwide.
The combination of these factors suggests that China is poised to remain a key player in driving global economic growth. Mahmood's remarks underscore his confidence in China's role as a stabilizing force amid global uncertainties.
