Arada Launches 'Home For A Home' Campaign To Support Displaced Syrian Families

In a significant move towards humanitarian aid, Arada has unveiled the third iteration of its impactful Ramadan campaign, "Home for a Home." This initiative pledges to construct a home for internally displaced families in Syria for every property sold in Arada’s communities during the holy month of Ramadan. The focus this year is on aiding those affected by the ongoing conflict and the devastating earthquakes that struck in February 2023.

Arada's collaboration with Sharjah's The Big Heart Foundation (TBHF) and the international NGO Human Concern International (HCI) aims to establish a comprehensive residential community near Aleppo. This community will not only provide homes but also essential facilities including a school, mosque, clinic, playground, and shops, ensuring a sustainable living environment for hundreds of displaced families.

'Home for a Home' Aids Syria

The initiative is aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, emphasizing environmental sustainability in the construction process. Each home will be equipped with necessary items such as blankets, kitchen utensils, and appliances to ensure a comfortable start for the beneficiaries.

Ahmed Alkhoshaibi, Group CEO of Arada, expressed pride in the Home for a Home initiative's role in providing durable and sustainable support to communities in distress. He highlighted the partnership with TBHF and HCI as a reflection of Arada’s commitment to humanitarian principles upheld by the UAE.

Mariam Al Hammadi, Director General of TBHF, commended Arada for extending the initiative's reach beyond its initial scope. She underscored the transformative impact of Home for Home on thousands of lives in Kenya and expressed enthusiasm for its potential to aid Syrian families facing severe hardships.

Iftikhar Shaikh Ahmad, Global Director of Programmes at HCI, pointed out the dire conditions faced by displaced families in Syria, emphasizing the critical need for shelter and community services. This initiative promises not just homes but a beacon of hope for those most in need.

The first two editions of the ‘Home for a Home’ campaign have already made significant strides in northern Kenya. In partnership with THBF and UNHCR, over 700 homes have been constructed for refugee families, alongside sustainable water supply systems benefiting 43,000 individuals. The initiative's innovative partnership model garnered acclaim at the 2023 Arabia CSR Awards, showcasing its effectiveness in creating lasting change.

As Ramadan approaches, Arada's Home for a Home campaign stands as a testament to the power of collective action in addressing global humanitarian challenges. Through strategic partnerships and a commitment to sustainable development, this initiative offers more than just housing—it provides a foundation for rebuilding lives.
