Arab Parliament Condemns Israeli Escalation And Attacks On Places Of Worship In Gaza
The President of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, has condemned the recent escalation by Israeli forces against Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. He highlighted the severe blockade and targeting of civilians, including women and children, labelling these actions as crimes witnessed by the world.
Al Yamahi criticised the international community's silence, stating it shows a neglect of moral and humanitarian duties. "What is happening in Gaza, from deliberate starvation to deadly siege, leaving children, women and families to die from hunger or by bullets, is a crime the global conscience can no longer bear. The silence of the international community reflects a complete abandonment of its moral, legal and humanitarian responsibilities," he stated.

Al Yamahi also addressed Israel's decision to transfer control of the Ibrahimi Mosque from Palestinian authorities to a Jewish council. He condemned this as a violation of international resolutions, including those by UNESCO. Such actions aim to change the historical status of Islamic sites in occupied territories.
He emphasised that these decisions are illegal under international law. The occupation's broader plan seeks to impose Israeli sovereignty over these religious sites. Al Yamahi reaffirmed that all such actions are null and void legally.
The continued targeting of worship places in Gaza was also denounced by Al Yamahi. He cited attacks on mosques and churches, including an assault on the Latin Patriarchate church sheltering 600 Palestinians. This attack was labelled a war crime with full responsibility placed on Israeli forces.
Al Yamahi urged immediate global action to halt aggression and ensure humanitarian aid reaches those in need. He called for holding Israeli leaders accountable for war crimes committed against Palestinians.
Call for International Action
He stressed that these crimes will not be forgotten or go unpunished. Urgent action is needed from Arab, Islamic, and international communities to stop massacres and impose sanctions on Israel. The Arab Parliament remains steadfast in supporting Palestinian resilience.
In his concluding remarks, Al Yamahi asserted that these violations will not fade with time. The Arab Parliament will persist in advocating for Palestinian rights, particularly establishing an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
