Al Zeyoudi Highlights CEPA Programme's Role In Advancing UAE Industrial Growth At Make It In The Emirates Event
The "Make it in the Emirates" event has become a significant gathering for manufacturers, investors, and industry leaders. Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, took part in a panel discussion titled "Redefining Industry, Trade, and Investment" during the event's opening ceremony. He reiterated the UAE's dedication to enhancing its industrial sector and increasing local production through strategic initiatives and global partnerships.

A recent World Trade Organisation report titled "Global Trade Outlook and Statistics" highlighted the UAE's impressive growth in goods exports. The country now ranks 11th globally with exports valued at US$603 billion in 2024. This marks a rise of six places from 2021 to 2024, showcasing the effectiveness of the UAE’s industrial policies.
Al Zeyoudi emphasised trade and investment as key drivers of sustainable industrial growth during the panel discussion. He noted that these elements enhance global competitiveness. The UAE’s Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) programme plays a pivotal role by expanding market access worldwide and integrating the nation into global supply chains.
The UAE’s industrial strategy is supported by initiatives like Project 300 billion and Make it in the Emirates. These aim to transition the country's export base towards high-value sectors such as advanced manufacturing, Industry 4.0, clean technologies, and logistics.
Al Zeyoudi stated that "The CEPA programme is not only creating access to diverse markets but it is also facilitating knowledge transfer and skills development across various sectors." He added that innovation and diversification are building a strong industrial foundation for sustained economic growth.
