Al-Azhar Delegation Visits Muslim Council Of Elders To Mark 10th Anniversary

In a significant meeting held at the headquarters of the Muslim Council of Elders in Abu Dhabi, Judge Mohamed Abdelsalam, the Secretary-General of the Council, hosted a distinguished delegation from Al-Azhar Al-Sharif. The delegation was led by His Eminence Professor Dr. Mohamed Abdel Rahman Al-Duweiny, the Deputy of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, and included notable figures such as His Eminence Sheikh Ayman Abdel Ghani, Head of Al-Azhar Institutes Sector, and Prof. Dr. Ahmed Hussein, Dean of the Islamic Da’wah College at Al-Azhar University.

The gathering underscored the pivotal role of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif in the Islamic world, with Judge Abdelsalam lauding it as a steadfast fortress safeguarding against extremism and negligence. He extended his congratulations to Al-Azhar on its 1084th anniversary, acknowledging its vital contributions to defending Islamic issues and promoting true religious teachings through an enlightened moderate approach. The leadership of His Eminence Sheikh Ahmed Al-Tayeb, the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar, was highlighted for ushering in a qualitative leap across scientific, Da’wah (preaching), and intellectual domains.

From his side, Professor Dr. Mohamed Al-Duweiny reciprocated by congratulating Judge Abdelsalam on the 10th anniversary of the Muslim Council of Elders. He praised the Council's significant strides under the Grand Imam's guidance in championing national issues, fostering East-West dialogue, advocating for Islamic dialogue, and establishing international branches to connect with Muslims globally. The delegation also spotlighted the crucial role of youth in cultivating global peace and nurturing values of tolerance and coexistence.

The meeting concluded with both parties reaffirming their commitment to bolster cooperation in promoting dialogue, human fraternity, combating extremist ideologies, correcting misconceptions, and disseminating the authentic teachings of Islam.
