Airport Show 2025 Opens Tomorrow In Dubai With Key Aviation Leaders And Innovations
The 24th Airport Show will commence at the Dubai World Trade Centre, gathering aviation leaders, airport operators, technology providers, and government officials. Under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, the event runs until 8th May. It is the largest B2B airport industry platform in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia (MEASA).
More than 140 exhibitors from over 20 countries will engage with over 50 qualified buyers representing 70 organisations from 30 countries. The event expects to attract more than 6,000 visitors interested in innovations in passenger experience, air traffic management, carbon reduction, digitalisation, and urban air mobility.

Sheikh Ahmed highlighted Dubai International Airport's (DXB) sustained growth as the world's busiest for international passengers for 11 years. He emphasised that the planned expansion of Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) will establish new benchmarks in airport development.
Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi, Director-General of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, reiterated their dedication to innovation, safety, and sustainability. He noted that the show plays a crucial role in promoting knowledge exchange within the global aviation community.
The event supports a US$1 trillion airport development market in MEASA. By 2040, Middle Eastern airports are expected to accommodate 1.1 billion passengers. In Africa, there are 24 ongoing airport projects valued at $2.3 billion. Ethiopia plans a new airport to serve 60 million passengers annually by 2040.
Rwanda is constructing a $650 million airport in Kigali. South Asia is expanding its aviation infrastructure with plans for over 220 new airports by 2035, led by India.
Major Investments and Conferences
Two significant regional projects dominate spending: the $35 billion Al Maktoum International Airport expansion and Riyadh's $50 billion airport project. Together they account for nearly 80 percent of Middle East and North Africa (MENA) airport development costs.
The show features conferences like the Global Airport Leaders’ Forum (GALF) and Women in Aviation Middle East Conference with over 30 sessions and 70 expert speakers. GALF includes keynotes from senior aviation leaders such as the Director-General of Residency and Foreigners Affairs and Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects' Director of Engineering.
