Air Arabia Reports AED 415 Million Net Profit For Second Quarter Of 2025 Amid Regional Challenges

Air Arabia, the largest low-cost carrier in the Middle East and North Africa, has announced robust financial results for Q2 and H1 of 2025. The airline's network expansion has strengthened its market leadership. In Q2 2025, Air Arabia reported a net profit of AED 415 million, slightly lower than the AED 427 million from Q2 2024. However, turnover increased by 2% to AED 1.69 billion.

During the first half of 2025, Air Arabia achieved a net profit of AED 770 million, an increase of 11% compared to AED 693 million in the same period of 2024. The airline's turnover also rose by 8%, reaching AED 3.44 billion. Over this period, more than 10.1 million passengers flew with Air Arabia, marking a growth of 13%.

Air Arabia's Q2 2025 Net Profit Reaches AED 415 Million

Between April and June 2025, Air Arabia carried over 5.1 million passengers across its hubs, a significant rise from the previous year's figure of 4.5 million for the same quarter. The average seat load factor improved by six percentage points to reach an impressive 85% during Q2.

Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammad Al Thani, Chairman of Air Arabia, remarked on these results: "The strong performance recorded during the second quarter of this year reflects the resilience of our business model and the effective execution of our growth strategy." Despite geopolitical tensions affecting operations and causing flight cancellations, the airline adapted swiftly.

In H1 2025, Air Arabia launched new routes and increased flight frequencies in key markets while adding aircraft to its fleet. This expansion came amid industry challenges like political instability and fuel price volatility. Al Thani noted that their ability to grow under such conditions highlights their robust business model and capable management team.

The airline added two aircraft to its fleet in H1, bringing it to a total of 83 Airbus A320 and A321 planes. An additional order for 120 new aircraft is expected to start delivery by late 2025. During this period, Air Arabia expanded its network with new routes in the UAE, Morocco, Egypt, and Pakistan.

Commitment to Sustainability

Air Arabia maintained its 'Leader' status in MSCI ESG Ratings with an "AA" score due to its ongoing efforts in environmental, social, and governance practices. The airline also received a Limited Assurance Statement on its ESG Report for 2024 under ISAE 3000 standards.

The company was ranked among Forbes Middle East’s "Top 100 Listed Companies" for the second consecutive year in June. Looking ahead to the rest of 2025, Al Thani stated: "As we look ahead to the remainder of 2025, our focus remains on expanding connectivity... creating sustainable growth and long-term returns for our shareholders."
