ADPIC Signs MoUs With Nine Academic Institutions To Enhance Abu Dhabi's Infrastructure Development
The Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure Centre (ADPIC) has formalised agreements with nine esteemed academic and professional bodies. These Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), revealed at the first Abu Dhabi Infrastructure Summit (ADIS), highlight ADPIC's dedication to innovation, talent development, and knowledge sharing in Abu Dhabi's infrastructure sector. The partnerships include institutions like UAE University, Higher Colleges of Technology, American University of Sharjah, Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, and others.
These collaborations are set to focus on research initiatives addressing specific challenges in Abu Dhabi's infrastructure development. Key research areas include sustainable materials, green construction techniques, climate resilience strategies, AI applications in project management, modular housing solutions, and waste reduction methods aligned with the UAE Net Zero 2050 Policy.

ADPIC is committed to nurturing talent through these partnerships by creating summer programmes, internships, and field projects for students. Universities will provide CVs of top graduates annually to ADPIC, ensuring that students have the skills needed for the infrastructure sector. This initiative aims to build a skilled workforce ready to tackle industry demands.
Another crucial aspect of these partnerships is curriculum integration. By embedding capital projects management into engineering and business courses, students will gain practical insights into infrastructure projects' unique aspects. This includes understanding government tendering processes, risk management strategies, and approval procedures essential for careers in this field.
The MoUs also facilitate a two-way knowledge exchange between ADPIC experts and partner institutions. Experts from ADPIC will serve as guest lecturers at universities while faculty members will deliver specialised lectures to ADPIC staff. This mutual exchange enriches both academic programmes and professional practices within the infrastructure sector.
Maysarah Mahmoud Eid, Director-General of ADPIC, stated: "These partnerships represent a pivotal investment in Abu Dhabi's future infrastructure ecosystem. By embedding capital projects expertise within academic curricula and creating robust research collaborations, we're building a sustainable talent pipeline specifically aligned with market needs."
Innovation Challenges and Competitions
The agreements outline plans for innovation challenges, hackathons, and student competitions targeting specific issues in infrastructure and capital projects. These activities aim to encourage creative problem-solving skills and entrepreneurial thinking among students while addressing real-world challenges faced by the industry.
Through these strategic collaborations, ADPIC aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry by fostering an environment rich in knowledge that supports Abu Dhabi's long-term development goals. The focus remains on enhancing the region's infrastructure ecosystem through innovation and capacity building.
