Admissions Open For Government Nurseries In Sharjah For The 2025-2026 Academic Year

Sharjah Education Academy (SEA) has announced the opening of admissions for government nurseries in Sharjah for the 2025-2026 academic year. This initiative follows directives from His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah. The expansion plan will unfold in three phases, starting in September, with a total of 2,546 children across 32 nurseries.

The first phase kicks off in September 2025, admitting 2,176 children to various government nurseries in Sharjah. The second phase begins in October, focusing on children from Khorfakkan, Kalba, Dibba Al Hisn, and the Central Region who missed out initially. This phase includes the newly completed Luluyah Nursery in Khorfakkan and Al Saf Nursery in Kalba.

Government Nurseries Admissions Open in Sharjah

In December 2025, the third phase will commence. It will accommodate 239 registered children who were not included earlier. This phased approach aligns with a gradual expansion policy to ensure smooth integration while considering operational and educational factors at each stage.

This year's admissions are based on specific criteria to ensure fairness and transparency. These guidelines aim to prioritise Sharjah's children and achieve balanced seat distribution across the emirate's regions. The academy is committed to enabling targeted groups to benefit from government nurseries effectively.

Dr. Muhadditha Al Hashemi, Chairperson of SEA, emphasised teamwork with government entities to expand nursery scope and provide quality early learning programmes. SEA plans to open new nurseries that align with community aspirations and family needs throughout Sharjah.

Meeting Community Needs

Khawla Al Hosani, Deputy Director of SEA, highlighted that admissions respond to increasing demand for government nurseries. Understanding family needs in Sharjah has been crucial in this expansion effort. She expressed confidence that these developments will lay a strong foundation for quality education from early years.

The academy's efforts include training and qualifying educational staff to enhance children's future opportunities by providing optimal care and educational environments according to high standards in capacity, building quality, facilities, and services.

With the completion of new nurseries, the number of government nurseries in Sharjah will rise to 35. This expansion reflects SEA's commitment to offering the best possible care and education for young children across the emirate.
