ADIPEC 2024 Sets Records With Over 205,000 Attendees To Promote Sustainable Socioeconomic Growth
ADIPEC 2024 has emerged as a pivotal event in the global energy sector, drawing a record number of participants. The event, themed 'Connecting Minds. Transforming Energy', attracted 205,139 attendees from 172 countries. This highlights the UAE's role as a central hub for energy and innovation. Attendance increased by over 20,000 compared to last year, showcasing growing global interest.
The conference introduced four new segments focusing on technology, AI, finance, youth, and the Global South. Over 1,800 speakers, including 40 ministers, shared insights across 370 sessions. Discussions centred on economic opportunities through cross-sector collaboration. The event facilitated deals exceeding $10 billion through strategic partnerships.

Dr. Sultan Al Jaber emphasised unlocking potential in emerging markets and AI growth. Tayba Al Hashemi noted ADIPEC's success in gathering industry leaders to drive sustainable energy solutions. "The record-breaking 40th edition of ADIPEC has successfully convened the leading minds across multiple industries and geographies to drive value creation opportunities and innovative solutions to shape a more sustainable energy future."
The ENACT Majlis highlighted collaboration between energy and AI sectors. Hosted by Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, it gathered 80 leaders from various sectors to explore AI-Energy-Climate Nexus opportunities. ADIPEC's inaugural AI Zone showcased how AI can enhance energy efficiency and reduce emissions.
Collaboration was evident across ADIPEC’s exhibition halls with over 2,200 exhibitors from 30 countries developing partnerships for sustainable growth. Innovation was key, with 133 exhibitors focusing on AI and digitalisation to accelerate energy transformation.
Financing Frameworks for Energy Transition
His Excellency Shri Hardeep S Puri stressed equitable financing for an inclusive energy future: "Energy is the spinal cord of an economy... We have to make sure that they coexist harmoniously with green energy because our people need affordable fuels." The Finance & Investment Conference addressed capital flow disparities in achieving a fair energy ecosystem.
Deals at ADIPEC included ADNOC Drilling acquiring a stake in Deep Well Services for $223 million and TA’ZIZ awarding over $2 billion for infrastructure at Al Ruwais Industrial City. BGP Inc.’s contract with ADNOC was valued at $490 million for expanding Abu Dhabi’s seismic survey.
Future Prospects and Industry Impact
Black & Veatch and Baker Hughes announced plans for an LNG solution producing up to 2 million tonnes annually. JOGMEC and the International Energy Forum signed an agreement promoting research in carbon capture and clean hydrogen.
Christopher Hudson praised ADIPEC’s role in uniting industry stakeholders: "Businesses across the industry... recognise that ADIPEC is the premier venue for forging critical partnerships." He highlighted AI’s potential to transform energy systems towards sustainability.
The next edition of ADIPEC is scheduled for November 2025, continuing its mission to decarbonise the energy sector while fostering essential discussions and partnerships shaping a sustainable future.
