Abu Dhabi's Non-Oil Foreign Trade Achieves 34.7% Growth In First Half Of 2025
Abu Dhabi's non-oil foreign trade has shown remarkable growth in the first half of 2025. The trade volume increased by 34.7%, reaching AED195.4 billion, compared to AED145 billion during the same period in 2024, as reported by Abu Dhabi Customs. This surge highlights the emirate's economic resilience and the efficiency of its infrastructure, which has facilitated smoother trade flows and improved logistics.
The rise in non-oil foreign trade underscores Abu Dhabi's successful economic diversification strategies and significant investments across key sectors. These efforts have strengthened its position as a major regional and global trade hub. Non-oil exports grew by 64% to AED78.5 billion, while imports rose by 15% to AED80 billion. Re-exports also saw a 35% increase, surpassing AED36 billion.

Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), stated that the steady performance of Abu Dhabi’s non-oil foreign trade in H1-2025 reaffirms its status as a global economic powerhouse. He noted that this growth reflects the strengths of long-term economic planning and policy execution amid global challenges.
Al Zaabi further emphasised efforts to position Abu Dhabi among the world's most business-ready economies by streamlining trade procedures and integrating services. This approach aims to enhance efficiency and cement Abu Dhabi’s role as a key node on international supply chains. The focus is on enabling fair exchange of goods, services, and innovations.
Rashed Lahej Al Mansoori, Director-General of Abu Dhabi Customs, highlighted that the growth in non-oil foreign trade reflects successful economic strategies and effective collaboration with strategic partners.
