Abu Dhabi International Arabian Horse Championship Kicks Off Tomorrow With €4 Million Prize Fund
The Abu Dhabi International Arabian Horse Championship's 17th edition is set to begin on Friday evening at Etihad Arena, Yas Island. This prestigious event will feature 338 horses, including 81 international participants. Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the championship promises to be a significant occasion for horse enthusiasts.
During a press conference at Etihad Arena, Mohamed Ahmed Al Harbi, Director General of the Emirates Arabian Horse Society (EAHS), shared details about the event. He conveyed greetings from H.H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan and expressed hopes for a successful championship. The event will run from February 21 to 23, following European Conference of Arab Horse Organisations (ECAHO) rules.

Al Harbi highlighted that prize money has been increased to €4 million, elevating the championship's status. Now classified as a "Title" event, it ranks among the world's top seven championships. This classification attracts some of the finest Arabian horses globally, adhering to stringent qualification standards.
Judges for this year's championship have been selected from various countries to ensure fairness and transparency. A total of 14 judges will oversee the event. They will use iPad devices to enhance result accuracy and speed up data transmission, reflecting EAHS's commitment to modern technology.
The championship begins at 10:00 AM on Friday with Yearling Fillies in three sections (A, B, C). It continues with Fillies Two-Year-Old (A, B) and Fillies Three-Year-Old (A, B) categories. The first day concludes with Mares 4+ Years Old section A.
Saturday's events start with Mares 4+ Years Old sections B and C before moving to male categories: Yearling Colts (A, B), Colts Two-Year-Old (A, B), and Colts Three-Year-Old (A, B). Sunday features Stallions 4+ Years Old in three sections (A, B, C) followed by six final championship events.
