Abu Dhabi Environment Agency Hosts Workshop To Boost Air Quality Efforts
The Environment Agency – Abu Dhabi (EAD) recently organised its second stakeholders' workshop to discuss the progress of the Abu Dhabi Air Quality Modelling Framework project. Held at EAD's office, the event highlighted the significant advancements made by EAD and its partners over the past year.
During the workshop, EAD shared key outcomes and regional modelling data generated in the project's first year. The agency also discussed plans for operational modelling studies, meteorology, forecasting, and the use of data products from the Modelling Framework project.

This initiative aligns with the broader strategic objectives of the Emirate and the 2030 National Air Quality Agenda. The workshop explored how the project's progress can contribute to these goals and how partner organisations can align their initiatives accordingly.
A key outcome of the workshop was to strengthen relationships among stakeholders. The event created a platform for open dialogue, shared knowledge, and collective action aimed at improving air quality in Abu Dhabi.
Faisal Al Hammadi, Executive Director of Environmental Quality Sector at EAD, expressed satisfaction with hosting the second workshop. He highlighted significant progress and collaboration with partners to enhance air quality.
Future Initiatives
The workshop allowed stakeholders to provide feedback and contribute to creating a future multi-stakeholder Air Quality Advisory Group. Once established, this group will offer expert guidance on various topics, including the effectiveness of existing plans, policies, and regulations to meet air quality objectives.
