Abu Dhabi Federal Court To Announce Verdict On ‘Justice And Dignity Committee’ Terrorism Case

The Abu Dhabi Federal Court of Appeal's State Security Chamber has announced a significant date in the legal calendar of the United Arab Emirates. On July 10th, the court will deliver its verdict on Case No. 87 of 2023 - State Security Offenses, a case that has garnered widespread attention due to its implications on national security. This case involves the ‘Justice and Dignity Committee’, an organisation accused of operating as a clandestine terrorist group within the UAE.

The case sees eighty-four defendants charged with serious offenses, including the establishment and management of the said terrorist organisation. The allegations extend to planning terrorist acts, fundraising for their operations, and concealing the financial trail of these funds. This development follows a 10-day period allocated to defence lawyers for the submission of their closing arguments, highlighting the critical stage of this legal battle.

During a session that was open to defendants' families and media representatives, the court heard from both the defence lawyers and the public prosecution.
