Abu Dhabi Court Sentences Eight Defendants To Up To 15 Years For Child Sexual Exploitation
The Abu Dhabi Criminal Court has sentenced eight individuals for online child sexual exploitation. These offenders used gaming platforms and social media to lure minors into sharing explicit content. They were also found guilty of possessing and distributing indecent material involving children. Sentences ranged from three to fifteen years, with fines up to AED1 million.
Devices used in these crimes were confiscated by the court. Additionally, the convicts are banned from accessing information networks in the future. Their related online accounts have been closed, and three will be deported after serving their prison terms.

Extensive investigations by the Abu Dhabi Public Prosecution led to these convictions. Authorities monitored suspicious online activities targeting minors. Arrest warrants were issued, and upon questioning, the defendants confessed to their crimes.
Forensic analysis of electronic devices revealed child pornographic material obtained and shared through technology platforms. Based on these findings, the Public Prosecution referred the defendants to a criminal court, which convicted them under relevant laws.
The Abu Dhabi Public Prosecution has cautioned against interacting with strangers on social media or sharing personal data that could lead to cyber extortion. It is crucial for parents to supervise their children's online activities closely.
Parents are encouraged to educate their children about the risks of accepting friend requests from unknown individuals on social media or gaming platforms. They should also teach them how to react if they face blackmail situations.
This case highlights the importance of vigilance in protecting minors from online predators. The legal actions taken serve as a deterrent against such crimes, ensuring safer digital environments for children.
