Abu Dhabi City Golf Club Updates Visual Identity To Include Founding Date Since 1977
Abu Dhabi City Golf Club has refreshed its brand by adding "Since 1977" to its visual identity. This change highlights the club's long-standing presence as a key player in the UAE's sports scene. Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Hameeri, Chairman of the Board, praised this addition, noting the club's significant role in advancing golf within the country.
The club was originally established in 1977 as Abu Dhabi Golf Club with a 9-hole sand course. Over time, it evolved into an 18-hole course before transitioning to a 9-hole grass course in 1998. It was renamed Abu Dhabi City Golf Club in 2010, reflecting its growth and development over the years.

Shihab Al Sayed Al Hashimi, CEO of the club, stated, "We are inspired by our leadership’s vision to promote the vital role of sport and remain committed to providing a vibrant space for the Abu Dhabi community to experience golf." The club offers top-notch facilities like a two-storey driving range, swimming pool, gymnasium, tennis courts, racecourse, restaurants and cafés.
The Emirates Golf Federation was founded in 1995 to collaborate with national clubs. Its mission is to expand golf's reach among various age groups and nationalities. The federation also aims to nurture talented golfers who can represent the UAE in regional and international competitions.
With more than 26 courses available now, the number of golfers has doubled. The UAE has become a prime location for international stars and champions. It hosts numerous global tournaments and boasts four national teams competing at different age levels.
Golf enjoys widespread popularity across diverse communities in the UAE. Major tournaments attract over 80,000 spectators from various emirates. This demonstrates golf's broad appeal among people of many nationalities who follow global golf stars closely.
The club continues to play an essential role in promoting golf within the UAE. Its efforts have helped establish the country as an attractive destination for both amateur and professional golfers worldwide.
