Abdullah Bin Salem Engages With ETCC Secretary-General On Enhancing Emirati Talent In Private Sector
H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Council, recently met with Ghannam Butti Al Mazrouei, Secretary-General of the Emirati Talent Competitiveness Council (ETCC). The meeting took place at the Sharjah Ruler’s Office. H.H. praised the ETCC and the Nafis programme for their role in enhancing Emirati employment in the private sector.
The Nafis programme aims to attract and retain 170,000 Emiratis in private sector roles. During the meeting, H.H. was presented with a detailed overview of its objectives and achievements over the past four years. This included statistics on Emirati employment growth and an increase in private sector establishments.
H.H. reviewed national employment figures for this year, focusing on job seekers and beneficiaries of the programme. He also examined financial support initiatives, training schemes, and specialised programmes designed to boost Emirati participation in various sectors.
The Deputy Ruler learned about specific efforts by the Council within Sharjah. An analysis was provided on private sector employment data across different age groups, economic sectors, and educational levels within the Emirate.
H.H. was informed about several programmes available through Nafis, such as the Healthcare Cadres Programme, Talent Programme, and Career Counselling Programme. These initiatives aim to equip Emiratis with necessary skills for private sector success.
Additionally, H.H. was briefed on awareness campaigns that are part of these efforts to enhance local talent's presence in private enterprises. The focus is on increasing both employment opportunities and skill development among citizens.
The meeting highlighted ongoing projects that develop skills crucial for private sector integration. H.H. commended these initiatives for their contribution to increasing Emirati representation in various industries.
The session underscored the importance of continuous support for training and qualification programmes that align with market needs. Such efforts are vital for sustaining growth in Emirati employment within non-governmental sectors.
