3rd International Conference On Advances In Autism Research Launches In Abu Dhabi With Global Experts
The 3rd International Conference on Advances in Autism Research commenced at the Abu Dhabi Energy Centre, under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The event, themed "Together for Inclusion: A Global Mission to Understand Autism," is organised by the Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO), ADNOC, Lotus Holistic Centre – Abu Dhabi, and Fatima College of Health Sciences. It will run until April 22.
The conference draws international experts from psychiatry, neuroscience, special education, and artificial intelligence. Participants represent renowned universities and research institutions worldwide, including UAE University, King Saud University, the UK's National Health Service (NHS), and academic bodies from the United States, Canada, Europe, and the Arab world.

Abdullah Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of ZHO, highlighted that this conference serves as a bridge for global cooperation. It aims to explore how artificial intelligence can enhance autism diagnosis through genetic data analysis and neuroimaging. The event also focuses on developing personalised intervention programmes to improve life quality and community inclusion.
Al Humaidan stressed that hosting the conference during the "Year of the Community 2025" underscores the UAE's dedication to empowering people with autism spectrum disorder. This aligns with the nation's vision of fostering a cohesive society that values human innovation.
He further explained that technological advancements are crucial in empowering people of determination. The conference seeks to promote research integrating AI into diagnostic and therapeutic tools. It also aims to strengthen partnerships with specialised centres and empower families through workshops using smart applications for guidance.
Dr. Omar Al Hammadi spoke on behalf of Dr. Ghuwaya Al Neyadi from ADNOC. He remarked: "Today’s conference reflects the spirit of cooperation, innovation, and inclusion — values essential to building a sustainable and thriving society." ADNOC's involvement as a strategic partner highlights its commitment to integrating people of determination into all life aspects.

Dr. Afaf Al Ansari emphasised the conference's significance in raising awareness about evidence-based treatments for autism. She noted that it presents recent research findings and effective interventions like behavioural therapy and early intervention methods.

The conference features over 20 interactive sessions with more than 100 global experts participating. It covers five main pillars: Medical Innovations focusing on brain research; Educational Empowerment highlighting inclusive education; Behavioural Approaches like Applied Behavior Analysis; Technology exploring AI support; Society covering inclusive sports and policy changes.
